cookbook is the result of 13 years or recipe collection by the
ALU LIKE nutritionists, with invaluable help from kupuna (elders),
volunteers, staff and caterers. Since 1974, ALU LIKE has proudly
provided a comprehensive system of support for Native Hawaiians.
ALU LIKE'S mission is to kokua (help) Hawaiian natives who are
committed to achieving their potential in caring for themselves,
their families and communities. ALU LIKE'S elderly services
program, Ke Ola Pono No Na Kupuna (Good Health and Living for
the Elderly), provides nutritious lunches, socialization and
health-promoting activities and assistance to Hawaiian kupuna
(elders) on 5 islands.
