keiki (children) of Hawaii are very lucky. They've been
given many gifts. The luckiest keiki of all are the ones
who embrace the gift that is really a legacy...the gift from
old Hawaii, called hula. Queen Liliuokalani, the last
reigning monarch of these islands, loved children and cherished
the music and dance of her people. The Keiki Hula Competition
is held every year, in her memory, to honor this gracious queen.
