The Pū‘ohe is a Hawaiian bamboo trumpet. It has a deep sound somewhat like a conch shell, and like other native instruments, pū‘ohe requires the special spirit breath to produce the proper sound. It was used by the ancient Hawaiians to beckon one another from the uplands. Today it is used as an instrument to accompany chants.
Sizes are approximately 12" in length and various diameters because it is made of natural Bamboo.
